Spring at the Cottages

Spring has sprung here at Bendigo Cottages!  The garden is blooming and I'm enjoying discovering the myriad of flowers popping their heads up to bask in the sunshine in different corners of the garden. Gardens bring birds and with it their song - such a delight to hear each morning! I've recently taken over ownership of the Cottages from Sue and Tony and every day brings a new discovery. The peace and quietude of the garden still surprises me, especially given the close proximity to town - only 10 minutes walk to all that View St, Bendigo's historic Arts precinct has to offer. If you enjoy flowers don't miss the stunning display of tulips in Pall Mall and the Conservatory Gardens - just a 10-15 minute walk from here. Over 30,000 tulips are in full bloom in the most spectacular colours. Enjoy the visual spectacle - or if you're a tulip buff, join one of the curatorial talks which can be booked through the visitor centre. Come to Bendigo, the spring gardens beckon.

Very Comfortable Accommodation in the Summer Heat

Once again 2017 is set to be a busy time in Bendigo.  Every month there are numerous events happening in and around Bendigo.   Whether you are in Bendigo for basketball, the beer festival or just catching up with family or friends, Bendigo Cottages is the place to stay.  The cottages have fantastic cooling so you do not have to worry about the summer heat.  The gardens are so relaxing and actually offer quite a bit of shade so keeps the heat down.  Both Rose Cottage and Robin's Nest offer a lovely balcony to sit outdoors and admire the garden with a cool drink. While Hyacinth opens directly onto the garden where there is a large outdoor table and chairs for your convenience.   Our location while very close to Bendigo is very quiet.  Within a 15 minute walk to the centre of Bendigo, only 5 minutes to Ulumbarra Theatre and the new hospital and 10 minutes to the Capital Theatre and the Art Gallery means you can park your car and walk most places. Alternatively if you are travelling by train to Bendigo it is ideal as you do not need a vehicle to get around.    Don't let the hot weather put you off coming to Bendigo, there are plenty of things to do and the sanctuary of your cottage at the end of the day.  Please spoil yourself and give us a call on 54415613 or 0418442311 to organise your accommodation.

We have finally got our new website.  It is very exciting to be able to showcase our cottages so well.    Jonathon at Wizmedia has done an exceptional job and we are hoping the fantastic video he has done will show to potential guests how gorgeous our cottages are.  We are also thrilled he has used his drone to show how close to the CBD, Ulumbarra Theatre, Art Gallery and the Bendigo Hospital we are.  With the Maticevski Exhibition on at the Art Gallery through to November, Bendigo Cottages is the perfect place to stay.  Have a great night's sleep in one of the beautiful cottages, enjoy a lazy breakfast overlooking the gardens or better still sitting in the garden,  then stroll down to the Art Gallery.  (10 min walk).

For all those past guests who have tried to book Hyacinth because you love it so much - good news, Hyacinth Cottage has been totally refurbished and has been back on the books since March.

Make sure you give yourself enough time.  We so often hear guests saying when they leave, I wish we had have booked for more nights, there is so much to do in Bendigo.  And there is!  Take a look on the Bendigo Tourism website and you will be amazed at what Bendigo has to offer visitors.

Coming up on October 7th and 8th we have Heritage Uncorked.  The Friday night venue at Fortuna Villa will be amazing and only a 3 minute drive from the cottages.  The Saturday venues are all within a 5 to 12 minute walk.  A fantastic location to enjoy the whole weekend.
